Artifiction
A downloadable game for Windows
,,One morning, Daniel woke up to find that AI was present everywhere in his life..."
Not long ago, this sentence used to start sci-fi stories, but nowadays it applies to all of us.
What if artificial intelligence evolves even further? Will people lose their jobs? Will humanity be in danger? Or will everything become easier and simpler? Since we will no longer need to use our brains, will we become dumb? Or will we successfully cooperate with our new partner and live peacefully side by side? Perhaps as equal partners?
Our short game does not seek answers to these questions.
But the fact is this: Apart from game design and programming, we entrusted all creative activities to the generative algorithm.
Is this close to an answer? One thing is certain, it makes you think.
The question is, how would you choose if you had to decide between AI-supported everyday life and a world without AI?

Animator (Daniel): Dániel Havas 'StrickN'
Engine: Unreal Engine 5.2
Originally, this game has been mading for *2023 Global Game Jam* in Februar but the publishing happened in April.
The theme was "root" and than the World began to know the AI, so it was a fresh new technology in public consciousness, so because of this we chose AI for the crative things.
Around that time, I was totally beginner "game developer" and I knew only Unreal Engine 5, so that was clear I will develop with Unreal Engine.
I produced all code parts in the game except only a 'Typewriter effect' and a 'PaperZD' addons but the other parts of the code is the result of my hands.
What were the challenges:
- 2D gameplay implementatio
- Character 2D movement -> PaperZD
- Player's cursor - item detection
- dialoges write out
- dialogs timing -> subroutine
- dialog scenes handling
- miss-click filters
- QA things (stayed some mistakes :( )
What would be good:
- Improve performance and reduce machine requirements
- bug fixes
- Highlight for items if you move to them the cursor
- skip button for dialogs
- "look at" areas that you can find easier the useful items
- game save (but I guess this game is too short that it can be necessary)

I have said the "correct" answers to the Guardian, then unplugged the Root. Sorry-not sorry :D
Yeah, after the Guardian scene the unplug decision is funny. :D
